Hi everyone

It's been quite a while since my last post.  I lost my mojo for a while and I made a few changes to my crafty world.  I stepped down from all but one DT and am now pleased to announce that I am a new member of the Graph'It marker International Design Team.

I received my markers yesterday and will be posting my first project for the 'FUR' challenge very shortly.

Spectrum Noir Challenge - Male card

First of all I must apologise to everyone for being a bad blogger.  I've recently moved and, as you can imagine it's been mayhem trying to find my craft stuff.  I'm getting sorted gradually and have also  now got broadband again.

Today I'm sharing my DT card for this month's Spectrum Noir Challenge - the theme is Male Cards.

To colour this little chap (he's called Angling Andy and is from Dr. Digi) - I have used a mixture of the marker pens and the new pencils.  I began by colouring the base layer with my marker pens in one block colour and then used the pencils to add the shading.  If you're a beginner this is an easier way to get this effect, in my opinion.

Here are the colours I used:-

Skin - (Pens) FS1  GB2  TN2  CR2 (Pencil) 092
T-Shirt - (Pens) LG2  BGR2 (Pencils) 059  047  120
Waders - (Pens) BT1  BGR2  IG8  (Pencils) 070  071  073  120
Fish - (Pens) BG5  BG3  (Pencils)  092  120
Satchel - (Pens) EB3  BGR2  (Pencils)  104  120
Hat - (Pens) TN4  BGR2  LG2  (Pencils)  101 120
Ground - (Pencils) 006  096  089
Background - (Pencils) 092  016

Spectrum Noir Blendable Pencils - Sneak Peek

I'm so excited to be able to share with you this sneak peek of one of the cards I made using the new Spectrum Noir Blendable Pencils by Crafters Companion.

Coming in Spring 2012, the Spectrum Noir Blendable Pencils range are an exciting addition to the Spectrum Noir family.  With 120 pencils in total, divided into five 24-set pencil colletions, along with accessories to help you get the most from your Spectrum Noir colouring.

Here is a link to the Spectrum Noir blog for more information.

Leann will be appearing on Create and Craft on Saturday 11th Jan at 4pm and broadcasting from CHA with lovely new products and the pencils are being previewed.

I've loved using these pencils, they are so easy to blend and work fabuously on their own and also in conjunction with the Spectrum Noir markers.

I'll be back again tomorrow with another card for you.

Sheena Douglass - A little bit Oriental

Today I am sharing another of my demo cards - it looks difficult but is really quite simple to do.

I took a piece of light card and cut it to the same size as my card blank, I then cut out the maple leaf shape with a Spellbinder die.  I discarded the leaf from the die and used the remainder as my mask.
Place this over the card blank and secure with some repostionable tape. I punched a small circle out of masking film and placed where I wanted the sun to be - I then used various distress inks and a stencil brush to build up the colour inside the mask. Remove the sun mask. I stamped the bridge and then removed the mask.  You will see in the Oriental Silhouette stamp set there are some branches with birds on - I used this stamp but I only inked up above where the birds are and then stamped this under the bridge (which is also in the same stamp set). The sentiment and the flowers are from the Sakura stamp set.  To finish off I coloured the bridge in black with a black pen.

Happy crafting!
