Beading Friends Forever - May Challenge

It's challenge time again over at Beading Friends Forever.

Here is my take on this month's tutorial which is an embellished ladder stitch bracelet.  The tutorial uses 4 different colours but I decided to just go with the black and gold look.

Give this a go and pop over to the Beading Friends Forever blog and join in the challenge, the tutorial is really easy to follow and you don't need many materials.  If you're a beginner you can still do this.

Papercraft Essentials Issue 93

Over the next 7 days I will be showing you the cards that I was commissioned to make for the Papercraft Essentials magazine Issue 93, which is on sale now in leading newsagents.

The cards feature the Kraftin' Kimmie Circus stamps and sentiments and are in the 'Cut out and keep' section of the magazine, where you will find a list of items used and instructions on how to make the card.

For today's card I have used the 'Arielle' stamp.

Beading Friends Forever - April Challenge

It's time for another beading challenge over at Beading Friends Forever.  As usual there are 2 challenges, you can enter both or just one of them.

My DT project is for the Kumihimo tutorial.

I used  ivory 4mm pearls, petrol blue 4mm pearls, pale blue 4mm crystals and dark blue 4mm crystals.

This turned out to be a challenge for me too as this is my very first kumihimo project.  I must admit, I didn't enjoy doing it and probably won't be doing many more but it's good to try out new techniques.  I realised that I didn't have the correct findings to finish it off properly so just made do with what I'd got and then after taking my photo I dismantled it so I can use the beads again.

The second part of the monthly challenge is to make a matching set.  So, if you don't fancy trying Kumihimo there is another option for you.

Pop over to the challenge blog where you will find a link to the video tutorial and take a look at some of the lovely inspiration by my DT buddies.

Last Sneak Peek

Jayne Nestorenko is appearing tomorrow on Create and Craft at 11.00 am and will be launching her new stamp collection 'Apple of my Eye'.

Todays card is my last sneak peek which I have made using the Girls on a Bench stamp set.  I chose a backing paper and coloured the image with my Spectrum Noir pens in colours that co-ordinated with the papers.  I finished off with some pretty flowers from my stash.

Thanks for visiting and don't forget to tune in tomorrow.

Apple of my Eye - sneak peek 5

Good afternoon all!

Todays sneak peek is one for the dads and makes an ideal Birthday or Fathers Day card - the theme is 'Car Wash'.

In the first card I have used 2 of the stamps and made a scene using the masking technique.  I've kept both cards really as I wanted the focus to be on the images.

I'll be back tomorrow with my very last sneak peek but before you go don't forget to visit Hellen's blog to see her sneak peeks.

Another 'Apple of my Eye' sneak peek

Good afternoon peeps!   It's a late post today as I made a last minute decision to go to the NEC as my sweet husband said he would take me so I wouldn't have to drive in this horrible snow.  I managed to get almost everything I went for but my feet were killing me when I got back so had to have a rest before sitting in front of my PC.

Today's sneak peeks are from the 'Girl and Pony' stamp set.  There are 7 stamps in total in the set - the main image is the girl and pony and there is a background stamp of a barn door.  I particularly like the little rosette which has 2 sentiments that can be stamped into the centre (Best Friend and Well done).  There are 2 more larger sentiment stamps in the set.

Only 3 more sleeps until Jayne launches the stamps.  Don't forget to tune in to see them on Wedsneday morning at 11.00 am on Create and Craft.

Visit Hellen's blog for more sneak peeks and inspiration.

Apple of my Eye - Sneak peek 3

Hope you're enjoying the sneaky peeks.  Here's today's cards which I've made using the 'Farm Boy' stamp set from the soon to be launched 'Apple of my Eye' collection by Jayne Nestorenko.

The first card took me about 3 hours to colour but it was worth it and I'm really pleased with the finished result.  I used my Tria markers on Neenah cardstock and I tried to pick out some of the colours of the backing paper which was from the Basic Grey paper pad called 'Max and Whiskers'.

The second card was coloured with Spectrum Noir marker pens and I kept the design simple and used the Embossalicious 'Grand Dots' 8"x8" embossing folder for the background.

Off to my craft room now to make some more card samples.

Apple of my Eye - Sneak Peek 2

What a nasty, cold day - I should have been going to the show at the NEC today but all this snow put a stop to that.

I'm pleased to be showing you 2 more cards I've made with the new Jayne Nestorenko 'Apple of my Eye' stamps which she is launching at 11.00 am on Create and Craft on Weds 27th March.

The stamp set is called 'Girl on a Swing' and consists of 9 stamps including the words Sister, Daughter and Granddaughter and a sentiment stamp.

Pop back again tomorrow for more sneak peeks.
